The latest round of Consumer Reports HVAC ratings is out for Central Air Conditioning. Trane continues to lead the pack in both customer satisfaction and reliability, as well as receiving a nod for customer loyalty.
The Ratings
Trane received the highest rating of “Excellent” for Owner Satisfaction (5/5), based on the percentage of Consumer Report members who are “extremely likely to recommend their central air brand to others.” When it came to reliability, Trane also rose to the top with the highest rating of “Excellent” (5/5).
Brand Loyalty Is Alive
A call out to the brand within the Consumer Reports story highlights our continued customer loyalty. “Only 15 percent of our members said that buying an AC system of the same brand is very important to them, but 25% of Trane owners indicated that it was key for them.”
Why They Matter
While we all take pride in and know the value of our products, the independent testing and ratings from Consumer Reports are important as they validate that our products are premier, trusted HVAC systems. The Trane Brand team will continue to share these wins through social media, trade and consumer publications, and advertising opportunities. Additional guidelines on how you can share the news will be sent out in the near future.
Details Behind the Ratings
The Consumer Reports survey asked 23,997 of its members to share details about the central air conditioning system they had installed between 2005 and 2020. The publication explained that predicted reliability ratings are “based on a statistical model that estimates problem rates by the end of the 8th year of ownership, for central air conditioning systems that are not covered by an extended warranty or service contract. We also adjust for the median number of months of use per year. The median in our survey was 5 months per year. Higher ratings are indicative of better reliability.”
