RESNET Requirements for Mechanical Ventilation Flow Rate Measurements

RESNET is an independent, non-profit organization to help homeowners reduce the cost of their utility bills by making their homes more energy efficient. RESNET also defines the scope of knowledge and rating methodology  for Home Energy Raters. These raters use a HERS (home energy rating system) scoring index to determine a relative level of energy efficiency of one home compared to another. A HERS Index Score can tell a potential homeowner  how well the home performs energy-wise. The HERS Report will outline the energy features of the home and the expected cost of utility bills.

As it relates to HVAC and Indoor Air Quality, the Strategic Partnership Team is working with our local dealers, energy raters and builders to show the benefits of our more efficient products and solutions. We have been successful with upgrading the HVAC equipment selection and including indoor air options such as the QF130V ventilator to their standard home energy package. The QF130V is a preferred ventilation option for builders that offers an ECM motor and Intelligent Logic package that no competitive product offers. With the introduction of new products like the QF130V the team is more equipped to talk about building science and the “total system package” with our customers.
