Diagnostics dealers now have access to a helpful new Customer Assigning Diagnostics feature and may have noticed changes in their customer list. Read on for more details or watch the video that is linked below.
A new Customer Assigning feature pulls Trane® Home customer information (e.g. name and address) into Diagnostics and automatically assigns thermostat AUIDs that have had a company’s dealer code entered in. This removes the hassle of manually adding customer data to most [unassigned systems] by creating new customers for new installs or registrations, and will retroactively add customer data to any current [unassigned systems] in an account today.
This automatic assignment will take place as long as the following criteria have been met:
- The dealer’s code has been entered into the Trane smart thermostat
- The homeowner has registered their smart thermostat to a Home account
- The homeowner has “opted in” for the dealer to see their HVAC information
Dealers can expect to see many “New Customer” tags on any previously unassigned systems. They can also see some “Updated Customer” or “Duplicate Customer” tags on current assigned customers where the imported data from Home does not match previous manually entered data in Diagnostics.
