As our business has collected information through the merging of our Equipment and Parts Channels, we have been documenting different gaps and looking for solutions to make customer experiences more predictable and consistent. When our Independent Wholesale Distributors and Commercial Independents order parts today, they do not know what they will be charged for freight until that line is shipped and invoiced, removing any ability to provide your dealers with information at time of purchase (or prior to it). You can reach out to customer service to get a quote, but those have been inconsistent due to all the factors that can come into play downstream.
Effective on March 22, we are launching a new way to quote freight for Parts Orders. This will enable any IWD/CI employee with access to Oracle the ability to quote freight and know exactly what they will be charged on an order before they actually book the order itself. The process is almost identical to the one the associates take when placing the order, with exception of not actually booking the order, but reverting back to the order header, hitting action, then price order. It is that easy!
