New Fault Found Structure for Warranty and Concession Claims

As we focus on delivering our Quality 2021 Strategy, the Trane Commercial Americas Quality Team continues to identify key areas of improvement through feedback of our Service Techs and Plant Quality Teams. One critical area of focus is the reason for a Warranty or Concession Claim – Fault Found Code, which is why we are introducing a new Fault Found structure for Warranty and Concession Claims in Warranty Management System (WMS) for commercial products.

What is changing:
Fault Found Reason Codes used in the Warranty Management System (WMS) are changing. This is the code added to a claim to identify what failed and why. The current fault found structure has more than 1500 options, which makes it cumbersome and difficult to correctly identify and add the code to the claim. This change will significantly reduce the number of available codes (~100 codes) and improve the names and descriptions.

Why this is important:
The fault found reason code data is used by many operational teams to determine how to improve our product and customer experience. Ease of code use will improve the workflow of the claim and accuracy of the code selection.

When and how this will be deployed:
The new codes will be will available for use on July 1, 2020.
