IBS 2019: Solutions, Fun, and Support for a Great Cause

Trane and American Standard will come together to bring the latest in comfort solutions with a dose of virtual reality fun, a talk by a prominent building science speaker, and highlights of the Trane commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to the 2019 International Builder Show booth on Feb. 19–21, in Las Vegas.

Under the theme “Comfort Solutions for Every Home,” the Ingersoll Rand Residential HVAC portfolio will be on display and feature three product levels—one to meet every homebuilder’s needs:

  • Premium Comfort Solutions: Highest level of performance, energy savings and comfort
  • Advantage Comfort Solutions: Mid-grade choice for simple and innovative builder system solutions
  • Standard Comfort Solutions: Systems that fit comfortably within tighter budgets

Products on display will include:

  • XV19 Low Profile Side Discharge Heat Pump, the ultra-quiet heat pump ideal for zero lot lines
  • Hyperion Air Handler, with its rust-resistant body that insulates from condensation
  • S8X1 Furnace, the latest addition to the easy-to-install furnace family with a 34-inch cabinet and 4 poise options

Game ON!

Show visitors can race against time to build the ultimate Residential HVAC system with our hands-on virtual reality game. By putting on the headset, participants will be transported to a home construction site. After a brief training, they will test their skills at selecting HVAC equipment and accessories for the 3D home.

Building Science Expert Speaks

For those interested in how to best navigate the energy and climate envelope in new home construction, Trane has teamed up with Mitsubishi Electric and Greenfiber to offer a 45-minute presentation and Q&A by the founding principal of the Building Science Corporation, Joseph Lstiburek. He will discuss high-performance building practices and the challenges faced by builders on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. in the Greenfiber Booth – P16 Outdoor.

Dr. Lstiburek’s work ranges widely, from providing expert witness testimony to overseeing research and development projects, to writing for the ASHRAE Journal and buildingscience.com. Dr. Lstiburek’s commitment to advancing the building industry has had a lasting impact on building codes and practices throughout the world, particularly in the areas of air barriers, vapor barriers, and vented and unvented roof assemblies.

For the kids

Plus, we highlight Trane’s favorite Dream Home Giveaway beneficiary, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Trane has served as one of four national sponsors for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway since 2014. Dream Home sponsors, builders, and donors give their time and products to build homes, and in most states, sell tickets to give away the home to a lucky winner.

In all, Trane has donated $1.28 million through equipment and installation for Dream Home projects and as a participant in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.
